This project finds Harris incorporating more of an R&B presence. Known for the way he can deliver a ballad, Harris brings all of the goods to the table on the beautifully arranged, soul-stirring track "Never Too Broken to Mend." Harris also uses the music here to tackle a number of important subjects. The issue of child abuse is addressed through the title track, "Pass the Love." The emotional subject of patriotism is brought to the forefront on the closing track, "The American Spirit." This song was penned in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, tragedies.
