B.B. King Wails was originally released in 1959 on the budget label Crown. This is vintage B.B. King fronting a big band that glides through ballad-heavy material. While this was a successful direction for King, the following year he released My Kind of Blues, which was a complete turnaround, stripping the instrumentation to the bare essentials, sans orchestra. Any of B.B.
