Being a savvy businessman as well as an e-music legend, Ian Boddy chose his collaboration with Markus Reuter, Distant Rituals, as the second release on his new DiN label, which he promotes as "Purveyors of Fine Contemporary Electronica." This CD is a set of deep atmospheric minimalism with subtle nuances and vivid auras. Boddy's smooth sequences compliment Reuter's processed touch guitar (similar to a Chapman stick). The dense atmospheres surround deep listeners warmly and brightly. Although not quite pastoral ambience, it is close. The disc will appeal to fans of Jeff Pearce, Remco Helbers, and Chris Short.
