Collectables' 2003 Juice Newton release Greatest Hits, part of the label's Priceless Collection, is a retitled reissue of EMI/CEMA Special Markets' budget-line 1991 10 Best series compilation. In either incarnation, these ten tracks provide a good, basic overview of Newton's '80s soft country hits, including the blockbusters "Angel of the Morning," "Love's Been a Little Bit Hard on Me," and, of course, "Queen of Hearts," which mimics every detail of Dave Edmunds' version of the tune that was released two years before -- and is all the stronger for it. The rest is devoted to smaller but equally enjoyable country hits. While there are more extensive collections, this no-nonsense platter delivers everything most casual fans will need, and at a nice price indeed.
