Hooray for the African Sounds label! They are reissuing the vintage King Sunny Ade albums: the albums that made him the King of Juju in his homeland of Nigeria. It's got all the talking drums, guitars, and joyousness that you'd expect from an album by King Sunny Ade & His African Beats, but there's a rawness and exuberance that doesn't always come through on his albums for Island and Atlantic/Mesa, which were somewhat slicked up for international audiences. This is the real deal. Highly recommended.
