Singer of a half-dozen million sellers, Eddie Fisher's bewitching voice and incandescent performances made him one of mainstream America's favorite entertainers during the early '50s. Any Time collects 27 of the best songs from his short stay in the Hit Parade, roughly from 1950 to 1954; he remained in the public eye, thanks to movie roles and celebrity wives, for many years afterward. The big hits -- "Anytime," "Tell Me Why," "I'm Walking Behind You," "Oh! My Pa-Pa (O Mein Papa)" -- are staggered throughout this hour-plus disc, leaving space for a few lesser chart entries and a few choice non-hits, such as his warm duet with Perry Como on "Watermelon Weather."
