Used to be that any Gary Numan compilation not on Beggars Banquet padded its late-period non-hits with live versions of early-period big hits. Since Numan has recently re-recorded some of the old hits, Here in My Car is a mix of live and re-recorded old hits and "hardcore fans only" new tracks. The darker re-recordings of "Metal" and "Down in the Park" come from the Dominion Day EP, but almost everything else has shown up before on the cash-in comps. The studio albums Exile, Berserker, and Sacrifice get one or two tracks each, while the live albums White Noise and Live Dark Light account for the rest of the material.
