Crary has a knack for interpreting fiddle tunes for the guitar, playing them with a nimble grace and effortless musicality. As long as he sticks to instrumentals, Crary is fine -- after all he, has some great duels with Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, John Hickman and Byron Berline -- but when he sings, the album becomes a little tedious; he simply doesn't have the vocal skills to match his instrumental acumen.
