On The Dreamtime he presents us with a selection of traditional vocal and instrumental tunes, characterized by lively dancing kora patterns played over solid basslines, with much use of repetition, creating an almost hypnotic effect. On some pieces Suso multi-tracks himself, adding, in places, the raspy voice of the nyanyery (a one-string violin), talking drums, kalimba (thumb piano) and karinyan (metal scraper).
