This Cherokee/Creek artist has been prolific in releasing recordings of Native American legends, many under the name of Jackalene Crow before she was married. The target audience for many of these recordings would most likely be young children, as it is presumed the older crowd would rather absorb these stories directly from printed collections. Crow's voice and delivery are pleasant, but it would be hard to describe her presentation as profound in itself. The material she presents is of much value and will hold the attention of young listeners, although the producers probably didn't need to go to the trouble of mixing in outdoor sound effects and bits of Native American flute, none of which is credited to any particular performers. As with any collection of these types of stories, the ones involving animals, such as "How the Bobcat Lost His Tail," will be the children's favorites.
