16pac
16pac (pronounce SixteenPac) was born in 2001 from the meeting of Emma Laporte and François Puech. She was a rock singer, he was a Neil Young style songwriter. Together, they decided to dig their common interest in artists like Björk and Portishead. Now 16pac is an electro pop combo where the voice and melodies lay on an experimental beat. They recorded few songs “at home” and one of them (“My Heart Is Full Of Music”) was selected on the CQFD compilation of the French magazine “Les Inrockuptibles” in December 2002. In 2003, they completed the production of an 8 tracks CD demo, which got some nice reviews from webzine like Liability Webzine or Connexion Bizarre. Bassist Vincent Soleil would reach them and in May and June 2004, they performed live at the Pop In (Paris), opening for artists like HitchcockGoHome! Now a trio, their new self producted album "Endless Work In Progress" is available in March 2006. From the electro pop style of the beginning, they're now exploring a deeper and complex universe (electro folk, electro rock, post rock…). This new album has already got a lot good reviews, radio plays and they now play numerous concerts in France. Now distributed by COD&S, the album is available in shops since February 2007.
