Much like fellow Chicagoans Local H, 3 Dudes and a Dead Chick is actually a two-piece band consisting of a guitarist/vocalist (Tom Repetny) and a drummer (Jerry Hicks). Repetny and Hicks got together in August 1994 and in under a year landed a spot on DJ Mancow Muller's popular morning program. The publicity helped local sales of their self-released 1995 album Pod, and the band signed with Hammerhead Records to increase their exposure.
