As diverse as our interests are outside of the studio, we are three brothers bonded by a love of music. When we aren't busy taking care of patients, running a restaurant business, or putting together graphic portfolios, we are in the studio experimenting with sound. 3 Sons Productions is the brainchild of Dimitri Mathioudakis, started in 2004, in a small basement with a keyboard and a microphone. Since then, we have expanded our knowledge of recording and musical engineering, and we continue to perfect our unique sound. Although we have a strong foundation in classical music, our music reflects our interest in hip-hop, often blending with sounds from our Greek heritage. All three of us studied piano at the Peabody Preparatory, and then played string instruments later in high school and beyond. Nes studied violin performance at the Peabody Conservatory of Music, and was a member of the Peabody Concert Orchestra as well as concertmaster of the Greater Baltimore Youth Orchestra. Since college, he has mainly focused on Greek folk music, playing with our father, Nikos, at various Greek venues. Dimitri, aka Dim Sweets, played cello in high school, but has focused his talents on the keyboard. John, aka Yianni5, played viola in high school, but has combined his talents in computers to become the musical engineer of the group, producing and editing beats.
