A Quiet Revolution was the solo recording alias of Irishman Damian O'Neill, known to most as a guitarist and tunesmith of the Undertones and That Petrol Emotion. In early 2001, he released a self-titled record on Alan McGee's Poptones label that stood at odds with the hyper punk and pop of his previous bands. Eschewing the talents for which he had been known for throughout the previous two decades, the album was a kitchen sink amalgam of imaginary soundtracks, culling inspiration from John Barry to My Bloody Valentine and many other points between.
