Action Figures

Hailing from Fairfax, VA, Action Figures have released two albums of aggressive power-pop influenced by '80s giants R.E.M. in addition to '60s and '70s acts such as the Rolling Stones and Big Star. The band is comprised of Jeff Smith, Chris Piller and Jim Waters -- who trade off on guitar, bass and vocals -- and drummer Josh Rowley. The group released Big Wonderful in 1992 and returned three years later with Little Citizens. Both albums (plus an EP titled Lauraville) are available on EggBert Records. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
