Alamantra was officially formed in 2000 primarily as a three-piece indie rock trio; although it has occasionally included additional players. Currently the band features original members Bobby and Kenny Shiflett on guitar and drums, Joel Smith on bass and Mike Hamilton on vocals. Their current sound features a return to hard-hitting, "elegant but ugly" indie rock mixed with a loose improvisational style that is brazen, raw and introspective.
