I'm not very technical, but I play with feel and love to write songs. Any band I am a part of is definately going to build on feel. Hey just look at Kurt Kobain from Nirvana. Does he sound very technical? No but he bigtime! He can write a song! My advice to any young musicians out there would be to make sure you play with emotion. Try to write good songs as you devlope. Don't stay in a closet trying to be the best lead player in the world. Shredding is coming back and it's definately good to have that in your arsenal as well, if you have the time. (or else make the time) Some of my fave bands now......In Flames, Iced Earth, Primal Fear....
