The eccentric noise rock outfit An Albatross features Edward B. Gieda III (vocals/percussion), Jason Hudak (bass), Kat Paffett (organ/synth), Phillip Reynolds Price (organ), Jake Lisowski (guitar), and Ed Klinger (drums). Hailing from Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre, An Albatross released their debut, Eat Lightning, Shit Thunder, in 2001 on the local When Humans Attack! label. A year later, the New York City indie rock imprint Ace Fu signed the band. The rackety grind punk sounds of We Are the Lazer Viking, which highlighted a more mischievously bold set from An Albatross, arrived in summer 2003. A split 7" with XBXRX, Into the Lazer Eye, followed on Gold Standard Laboratories in 2004. Around this time, Paffett departed and touring drummer Steve Vaiani was added to the group.
