Ana Bárbara
Popular singer Ana Barbara was captivated by music every since she was very young, while singing with her sister Viviana. Inspired by Mexican traditional music, the artist started participating in contests, later moving to Mexico City to work with producer José Jara. In 1993, Ana Barbara was named Ranchera Ambassador, also getting her first Heraldo Award. A year later, Fonovisa signed her up, releasing an album produced by Aníbal Pastor, soon climbing local charts with her songs "Nada" and "Sacúdeme." That record was followed by 1995's La Trampa and 1996's Ay, Amor. In 1998, while promoting Los Besos No Se Dan En La Camisa, the singer was crowned as Queen of La Calle Ocho during Miami's Latin Festival and awarded at Lo Nuestro by the same time. In 1999, her album Tu Decisión was released. The following year, Ana Barbara took time off from music to have her first child, but returned in 2001 with her most popular album to date, Te Regalo la Lluvia. That albums success led to a hits package, 15 Exitos, which was released the following year. In 2003, the reigning queen of Ranchera released Te Atraparé Bandido. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
