Batimco

The group Batimco's name comes from the percussion instruments bata, timbal and conga. David Frazier plays all three (plus bongo) for the adventurous yet fairly accessible sextet, which also includes Jorge Sylvester on alto and soprano, Martin Cuevas on tenor and flute, keyboardist Glenn Pearson, bassist Rob Holland and drummer Bran Kirk. Batimco recorded for J&N in 1992. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
