Beachfront Property
Jazz vocal groups (at least worthwhile ones) are a rare species. Beachfront Property differs from its predecessors due to its size, originally starting out with nine singers (Jeff Dolan, Wendy Abeling, Stan Castongia, Renee Kerr, Tom and Jennifer Dustman, Alyce Ohl, and Bill & Jill Mumaw) in 1990 and cutting back to eight (Michelle Carroll took the places of both Wendy Abeling and Renee Kerr) by 1993. Finally in 1996 Jennifer Schneider was added to the group, which sometimes sounds like an enlarged jazz-oriented version of Manhattan Transfer, has recorded several sets for Cexton and can be relied upon to put on a swinging and very musical show. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
