Ben Kettlewell
Ben Kettlewell began his music journalism career in 1980, writing interviews, and reviews for SYNE Magazine and Music of The Spheres Magazine. In 1987 he wrote and published a 241 page sourcebook on electronic music composers, New Horizons, for New Leaf Press. Electronic Musician Magazine published an exclusive interview with German synth pioneer, Klaus Schulze, which also ran in Sound on Sound Magazine in the UK. In 1988 he wrote CD liner notes and the press release for John Boswell's second album, Kindred Spirits, on Scarlet Records. That same year he interviewed internationally reknowned ambient music composer, Steve Roach, on NPR, 8/88. The interview was also published in the Heartsong Review and Airwaves magazine. Later, in 1994 published an interview with German composer, Bernd Kistenmacher in the 94 Spring edition of i/e Magazine as he continued as staff writer and music reviewer for i/e Magazine and Dreams Word Magazine. In the Spring of 1997 Ben launched his own music magazine, Alternate Music Press, a bimonthly online journal of new music. Besides currently being editor of AMP, he freelances for several international music publications.
