Back in 1994, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony took the hip hop world by storm because of their unique blend of melodic vocals & tongue-twisting rhymes(a double pattern). Since then, many swagger jackers have ruined their harmonious style to the ground. With this, their 6th studio album, they look to recapture the hip hop world, minus Bizzy Bone(completely out of the picture) & Flesh-N-Bone(incarcerated). However, the remaining 3 members sound like a shell of their former selves for 99% of this album.
The intro shows promise as Layzie Bone rips, "In 1994, we switched the game up/Spit the hardest with the rappin' and the flow that always changed up." Better known for their layers of harmonization, here they repeat an unimaginative choruses. "Thug Stories", despite being a well-detailed narrative, falls into the paint-by-numbers hook.
What downs this album even more is the fact that it lacks BTNH's bread-n-butter:hoood stories/tales. Instead, they do a complete 180 & have the R&B fueled "Call Me" and are scorning all females on "She Got Crazy". If they were thinking that these type of songs would broaden their audience, it ain't happening anytime soon.
"Stand Not In Our Way" has that fighting temptation message & is a defnite killer tune. "This Life" is a reflective song that more represents the classsic hits of BTNH.
This album is not worth copping with hardly any killer songs. The last few tunes are great, but by that time it's too late to save this album from throwing up a brick. Even as a casual fan of this group, I have a difficult time trying to get in tune with this album.

Not sure why this can't be found with the rest of the groups discography... Not up to par with other records but a good foundation put down.

Album Review for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony - E 1999 Eternal
Absolutely the best rap album not from California or New York, no doubt. Every track, beginning to end, is forever a Hiphop staple. Any rap lover can quote this album word-for-word, if they can keep up with Bone's hyper delivery.
