Brindl
San Francisco/Bay Area singer-songwriter Brindl's smooth voice and hypnotic grooves equally captivate and calm. As a teenager, Brindl taught herself guitar and piano and began writing original songs. She spent four years at UC Santa Cruz directing and scoring her own experimental short films, while developing her songwriting and singing. "I didn't feel like there was any rush to force music into the public eye. I got to explore music in a safe place and see what was developing." After graduating Brindl wrote and co-produced her first full-length album called Sweet Underneath in 2001 and then the Nice Girl EP in 2004, and began immersing herself in the local Bay Area music scene. "Even though I thought of myself as a songwriter first, I wanted to work on being a good performer." While cultivating a musical community and performing regularly, she began to develop a personal musical mission statement. "To me music is a spiritual practice. Your intentions make a huge difference as to how effective music is. I am always working on trying to be humble and open, see what comes through me." Through the years Brindl has not only independently recorded and released all her albums but also has been an important part of contributing to her local music community by organizing songwriters' nights, including The Songwriters' Showcase and The Songbird Sessions. In the spirit of supporting independent music, in 2007 she started her own record label called Moxy Music (more below) to promote her music as well as the music of other independent artists. "I am fascinated by how music can heal and integrate life experiences on a personal level, but at the same time on a collective, public level." Brindl is currently touring in support of her newst release, Acoustic Heart. New Album out now! 11 New songs. Go to www.Brindl.com to listen to the full album streaming.
