Buellton
The Southern California indie pop band Buellton formed in 1998. Essentially sprouting from the split of a band called Brown, Buellton is comprised of bassist Cliff Hayes, drummer Erik Herzog, guitarist Andrew Giacumakis, vocalist/guitarist John Nygren, and guitarist/knob twiddler Tad Wagner, they debuted in 2001 with Avenue of the Flags on Film Guerrero. With occasional dips into dream pop, alt country, and sadcore, the accomplished record covered just about all of the bases and nonetheless fielded several positive comments from critics about its focused, assured nature. Before the release of the record, the band scaled the West Coast with like-minded bands Acetone and the Radar Bros. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
