Cafe Blues Band
Cafe Blues (Smolensk) was formed in November, 1998. Their style is rhythm-and-blues, influenced by John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Ten Years After, The Animals, Canned Heat, and Manfred Mann. Because of their popularity, in 1999 Cafe Blues played more clubs in Smolensk than any other band. The group's debut album, "Access Denied", was completed in December, 2000. Second one, "Eight bozo's and one beautiful Lady" (2003), has been recorded with the help of a Vancouver musician Russell Foreman (on the album he appears on guitar). He is known for playing with such blues greats as Paul Butterfield, Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy, Little Milton, Otis Rush, B.B.King... In the spring of 2007 Cafe Blues did a new live album called "Idlers, Toilers and a Jew". The album mainly consists of well-known songs like "Little School Girl", "Mojo Workin'", "Nadine", "Louie Louie", "Why Are People Like That"...etc. During seven years the band actively gives concerts across Mother Russia.
