Charles Coleman
An English singer, composer and instrumentalist who sang in the masque "Cupid's Banishment", served in the court of Jame's I and performed in a number of other masques. Coleman took the Doctorate in Music from Cambridge and composed a number of songs. The character of his songs tend towards modernity with a use of different musical relationships between intervals. Coleman's instrumental music comprised the import of his musical contribution, however, and his legacy provided fantasias and dances. ~ Keith Johnson, All Music Guide
