Cooler Kids
Straight outta Brooklyn comes the funky new wave sounds of The Cooler Kids. Comprised of Kaz Gamble, aka DJ Kazimir and California girl Sisely Treasure, The Cooler Kids originated when Gamble was messing around at the Pop Rox studio with ex-Luscious Jackson singer Jill Cunniff. The two were laying down disco-inflected tracks with some friends just for fun and before they knew it, Treasure befriended Gamble via AOL and a friendship was born. A musical bond formed shortly thereafter while Cunniff stuck around to be the 'groove godmother.' The Cooler Kids' fresh, kitschy sound made its debut in 2003 when DreamWorks issued Punk Debutante. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
