Courrier
When more kids today listen to music than watch the news, it makes you wonder. Maybe music is truth and news is just hearsay. It’s in this setting that Austin-based band, Courrier, steps in. With a penchant for the introspective and honest, Courrier sets its sights on the past, the present, and into the eternal. Their lyrics range from the hurt to the hopeful, but always aim at the heart of the matter. Courrier’s songs move with power, calling listeners to transcend. Led by earnest vocals, ethereal guitars, and captivating harmonies, Courrier’s music anthems the intimate. Though beginning under another name, this four-piece production has finally united under the banner of Courrier. In the past year, they have been working hard to make music rife with meaning and worth. One aspect that gives their music meaning is its connection. On a personal level, Courrier’s music stands as an invitation – to share, to change, to feel. “We wouldn’t do this if it were not for people,” says guitarist Philip Edsel. “We couldn’t.” This is probably why the band runs from any notion of elitism. “One of the things I would like to see change about the music industry,” says lead singer Austin Jones, “is the idea that you have to be the first to discover a band. We want everyone to be involved.” Consider that your invitation.
