Crooked Lettaz
With their own style of hip-hop observation through growing up on the wrong side of Mississippi, David Banner and Kamikaze wanted to let the world know of their ghetto upbringing when they formed Crooked Lettaz. With Penalty Records backing them up for the release of their 1999 debut Grey Skies, Banner and Kamikaze also spent a big chunk of their time lecturing at colleges for the sake of their Book Bank Project; a non-profit organization that collects books for underprivileged kids in underprivileged neighborhoods. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
