Crowcuss formed in 1976 with the help of a few talented guys who had already left their mark on rock history with groups like the Guess Who. Members of Crowcuss included lead singer and bassist Bill Wallace, guitarist Greg Leskiw, singer and drummer Marc LaFrance, and keyboardists Larry Pink and Hermann Fruhm. Within a couple of years, Leskiw left the group and was eventually replaced by guitarist Bob Deutscher. A short year after their birth, Crowcuss' self-titled debut album was released under the Stony Plain Record label. A sophomore offering, Starting to Show, was completed and released in 1979. The album received good reviews, but didn't sell as well as hoped or earn much airtime on radio stations. It turned out that this second album was the beginning of the end for Crowcuss. Wallace quit the lineup because of disagreements with the group's management. There was a halfhearted attempt to keep things together for a little while, but in the end it didn't take long for the other members to follow Wallace's lead. The guys didn't leave the music world behind though, and went on to work individually in other groups such as CheckOne2, Mood Jga Jga, and One Horse Blue.
