Damn Yankees
For a brief time in the early '90s, the supergroup Damn Yankees enjoyed a considerable amount of success on the AOR circuit. Comprised of guitarist Ted Nugent, Styx guitarist/vocalist Tommy Shaw, Night Ranger bassist/vocalist Jack Blades, and drummer Michael Cartellone, the group came in on the tail-end of the heyday of polished pop-metal, and their music didn't stray from that radio-friendly format at all. With their first album they had some hits, including the Top Ten power ballad "High Enough" and the radio hit "Coming of Age." Although they were popular concert draws, their second album, released in 1992, wasn't as successful; in the following year, the group disbanded. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

Damn Yankees' second album replicated the sound of their debut, but the songs on Don't Tread were missing the hooks that made the first record a hit. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
