Deep Listening Band

The Deep Listening Band was formed in late 1988 by Pauline Oliveros (accordion and electronics), Stuart Dempster (trombone and didjeridu), and Panaiotis with David Gamper (keyboards and electronics) joining in 1990; Panaiotis left in 1993. The group has chosen acoustically interesting recording spaces, including caves and a two million gallon cistern at Fort Warden, WA. The Deep Listening Band has recorded seven albums for a number of labels in addition to the members' many other projects. ~ Joslyn Layne, All Music Guide
