fastpunk's Album Review for Playing the Angel
""
Feel elation once again!
Playing the Angel is certainly a good album, a solid and melodic effort. It also brings back the "elation factor" that has been missing from DM's sound since the controversial Songs of Faith and Devotion. It can also be considered experimental because the band brings forth new sounds that simply make the album much better: a constant background buzz and some brilliant synth sounds which are particularly good on "Nothing's Impossible" and "Precious". There are some filler tracks, like "Lilian" or "Damaged People" but the other songs are really good. One particular song caught my attention: I Want it All. I heard it was written by David Gahan and I must say I'm very impressed, it is truly the gem of this album. Martin Gore's "Macro" is also worth mentioning as a center piece. Although I think DM need to sort out a few sound issues (particularly the drums, they sound too common) Playing the Angel is one of their best efforts. Do not miss this album!

Album Review for - Playing the Angel
I think it is one of the best of DM. I have loved them for years and this is so dark, rhythmic and just hypnotic.
