In the late-'90s U.K. dance scene, DJ Choci became one of the most popular practitioners of hard trance that was so fast and frenzied it bordered on happy hardcore. Choci's synthesis of the two styles won him a large following -- at the time, trance was extremely popular and happy hardcore was strictly a cult phenomenon yet still popular. He released a voluminous catalog of 12"s on labels like Cannon, Public House, and Choci's Chewns.
