StarKandy (born Carlos E. Luna, 1981), is a McAllen, Texas-born electronic and experimental musician whose work is often called "illbient" or "trip hop" and is also an underground producer and the sole member of another electronica project-Audio Pulse. Since a very young age Carlos became very interested in many styles of music ranging from punk, alternative rock, Jazz, hip hop breakbeats and techno. After a couple of amateur DJ gigs at a friend's house and doing some techno sets at parties, with money saved up from some various jobs he was able to buy himself some drum machines, scratch pads as well as some programming software to start creating his unique blend of music to incorporate into his energized sets. Highly influenced by other musicians such as Timo Maas, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Swamp, DJ Spooky, UNKLE as well as alterantive groups Radiohead and Massive Attack, StarKandy fuses those same elements that have inspired him and has utilized them to compose and remix.
