Dord

Experimental artist Jeffrey B. Jackson performs often under the alias of Dord, and since the late '80s, has attempted to break further new sonic territory with each subsequent recording. Dord's debut recording, The Dismal Sounds of Dord, was an off-the-wall collection compiled over a six year period, that featured such oddities as recordings of psychiatric patient interviews, scratched records, and even a few surprisingly refined compositions. Further releases soon followed, including the ambient-like albums Experiment and Discussion and Schwersystem, plus the repetitive and mechanical De Re Metallica, the feedback-drenched Super-Sonic Misery, Paris in the Spring (which spotlighted Parisian field recordings), and the self-explanatory Live at Macy's. If you like your music obscure and extremely experimental, be sure to try and track down a few Dord recordings. ~ Greg Prato , All Music Guide
