Dreams of University is opening for Fall Out Boy and The Academy Is on the Honda Civic Tour June 8th in Indianapolis. Young..Energetic..Melodic...Powerful..Dreams of University brings the intensity and songwriting craft of a seasoned major label act despite none of the members being over the age of 17. These musical prodigies create songs that rock your face, move your feet, grab your heart, and stick in your head. The dream began when middle school friends Logan Zimmerman, Sheldon Watts, and Zack Watters began banging away in Logan's back shed. After that first rehearsal they decided that they would, without a doubt, create a band that would eventually sell out stadiums. They quickly began writing songs and playing for friends at parties. In the summer of 2006, the guys participated in the Young Musician's Club, a local summer music program for developing rock musicians. Here they picked up keyboard player Brett Stedman and converted drummer Colin Cross to a rhythm guitar player. The band quickly began writing more songs and collected a huge local following that eventually caught the attention of indie label Awesomer Records. They recorded their debut album, Dreams of University, and had it professionally mastered by Erik Wolf in Nashville, Tennessee. The band was recently listed as the top unsigned band in Indiana on Myspace's list of top artists and has steadily been gaining a legion of fans. Their first single "You'll Never Know" was recently released on myspace and steadily receives hundreds of plays per day. The band was recently featured on WZPL 99.5 in Indianapolis as a "Homegrown Buzz" featured artist. Dreams of University recently beat out 450 Indiana bands to win the honor of opening for FALL OUT BOY on the Honda Civic Tour June 8th in Indianapolis.
