Oklahoma City based rock band, EMPTY CRUSH. In March of 2004, Phil Calfy (Lead Vocals) hooked up with producer Brett Hestla (Creed, Dark New Day, Virgos Merlot), in Orlando, Fl. to write and record. When Phil came back to Oklahoma City in 2005, he attended a local rock show where he first met Mike Finucane (Drums). Mike would be the beginning of Empty Crush. Brad Jones (Bass) and Jon Ezell (Guitar/Vocals), who were also in other local Oklahoma based rock bands, soon followed. By the end of 2005, Empty Crush was in high gear and ready to take over the world. In 2006, the band performed for thousands, sharing the stage with many of the bands that have influenced their lives such as: Nickelback, Hoobastank, Hinder, Default, Chevelle, and others. After a long summer of touring, Empty Crush traveled to Orlando to reunite with producer Brett Hestla to write and record their second album, Social Outlaw (unreleased). The new album boasts a variety of songs, from 80..s Rock to Modern, and even the Heartfelt Ballad. ..No one in the band shares the same influences. In fact they couldn..t be more different... Says singer Phil Calfy; ..We have a Hardcore Metal-influenced drummer playing with a guitarist who listens to 80..s Pop. You mix that with my love for early 90..s Grunge and what you get is a band that takes the best elements from each of our tastes in music and applies it as one... One thing is certain: the mix works as Empty Crush continues to leave fans begging for more. In the short time Empty Crush has existed, they have managed to write and record over 25 five songs with several multi-platinum artists such as Austin Winkler (Hinder), Brad Arnold (3 Doors Down) and Dave Benedict (Default). Empty Crush has shown that with their drive and determination these blood thirsty rockers are a force to be reckoned with!
