The reply to a random ad of fellow artists looking to get a project off the ground brought veteran musicians Valerie Linaker and Greg Kowalczyk, together in the winter of 2004 at a coffee shop in the streets of Brampton, Ontario. The result, a year later, is the beginnings of Eye Butterfly. This altruistic duo conjures up some of the most clear,intricately layered and harmonized ethereal-industrial soundscapes that have already made a home for themselves in the club circuit of Toronto’s gothic sub-culture. Linaker’s lyrical and vocal flair tempered with Kowalczyk arduous mastery of electronic gear unequivocally brings the essence of art back into music.
