Gif Performs Live in Blackface @ The Bronx Museum Of Art!
Free event! 6-10PM
Gif performs in black-face. Live @ the Bronx museum this Friday 2/01/08
They way I see it, why not bring Black History Month in with a BANG!
All the coonery that has been taking place in Hip Hop, it is the new minstrel show.
For those unfamiliar with Blackface it was basically used to promote negative stereotypes of black people on television. Whites and Blacks painted their faces black using burnt cork or shoe polish and danced around making over exaggerated faces and etc.
The way a lot of Hip Hop acts are promoting members of the black community is ass-backwards. It's not new, which makes it even worse! Not to say I'm on some angry blackman **** cause though I am, I'm not. I'm not going to come out and angrily shout at the crowd all night. I'm coming to put on an entertaining show. Come out and see a good one, YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS!
