Godboxer

Following the demise of his group Expanding Man in the late '90s, singer/songwriter Aaron Lippert waited a few years before resurfacing as the frontman for Godboxer. Joined by drummer Mike Levesque, bassist Joe McMahon, and guitarist Jay Barclay, Lippert began playing again in his native Boston area at local clubs in 2002 and at that year's NeMO Showcase; the band swiftly received a 2002 Boston Music Awards nomination for Outstanding New Rock Band. Offering a soaring power pop sound in the tradition of Cheap Trick, Godboxer issued its debut EP, Pins, in early 2003 on the small Rubirosa imprint. ~ Joseph McCombs, All Music Guide
