Graham Dalby

A long time member of the Hong Kong police force, Graham Dalby left fighting crime to devote himself to music in 1979. Since studying violin and conducting at Trinity College of Music, Dalby has continued to garner acclaim with his music. In addition to leading an eleven-piece band, the Gramophones, which he describes as a "jet age swing band," Dalby has worked with such artists as Placido Domingo, Julie Andrews, Kermit The Frog, Madonna and Neil Diamond. He assembled a swing band for a highly publicized VE Day charity ball in celebration of forty years of peace in Europe in 1985. Dalby wrote the theme song and appeared on the BBC2 video documentary, I'd Sooner Be A Crooner. ~ Craig Harris, All Music Guide
