For nearly ten years before their American recording debut, Grupo Sammy toured the U.S. and Mexico, playing at numerous dances and festivals and building up a loyal fan base. Their romantic grupero style mixes ballads and Cumbias and was featured on five albums that were released on regional Mexican labels, also helping to build their name. Originally from Aguascalientes, Mexico, the group is composed of seven musicians, along with vocalists Pedro Lopez Macias and Pedros Salas Padilla, who also plays the requinto. ~ Stacia Proefrock, All Music Guide
