A familiar to Liszt, Bulow, Wagner and Brahms, this German composer's production consisted of piano works (his primary instrument), performing and conducting. His "Piano Trio in G-mol" was so highly esteemed by Liszt that the latter dedicated his own Second Piano Concerto to him.
