A top-class band with an amazing lead singer.

Hoobastank have changed - from their first album containing mainly loud, grunge music to their most recent, "Every Man for Himself", containing a lot more tuneful and inspiring music.

I'm more a fan of the newer stuff.

While the old stuff appealed to one sector, the newer stuff will appeal to a bigger audience and I think will, in time, draw a lot more fans. They are very underappreciated, I think.

"The Reason" (song) began the new trend, with a more melodic tune and a less heavy tone. "Disappear", from their second album, was also themed in this way. And so in their newest album, the brilliant "Every Man for Himself", they have really used the true talents of the lead singer - his voice is superb - in songs such as "If I Were You" and "The First Of Me". They have kept a few songs which lapse back into the old ways, but it comes as a pleasant change to the rest of the album.

Hoobastank will, I'm sure, blossom into a popular band, and I do hope their next album contains a lot more of the inspiring music that they produce in "Every Man for Himself".

There's still a lot to come.
