After graduation Ilga continued her music studies at the Jelgava Music College, where she met violinist Indulis Suna. Between 1971 and 1976 Ilga completed her BA and MM degrees at the J. Vitols Latvian State Conservatory. During her studies Ilga Suna performed at many recitals together with her husband Indulis, and after graduation began an extensive careere as pianist, piano teacher and accompanist at the Jaz. Medins Music College and J. Vitols Latvian State Conservatory. Over the years Ilga Suna together with her husband Indulis have played and recorded a number of world premiere compositions (P. Vasks, M. Einfelde, I. Zemzaris, A. Grinups). For the last 16 years in Canada Ilga Suna together with Indulis has recorded and released 20 CDs featuring classical, contemporary, popular and dance music selections. In 2006 Ilga Suna recorded 4 new solo piano and keyboard albums: “A Time For Us” featuring timeless treasures for Piano Lovers; “Ochi Chornie”- Dark Eyes; “ Million Red Roses” and The Last Waltz” featuring haunting sounds of saxophone and accordion accompanied by string orchestra and performed by Ilga on keyboards. In 2007 both artists have released 5 DVDs: "Debute", "Farewell to My Country", "The Recital at the Latvian House", "Let's Dance" and "Recital at the St. John's Latvian Lutheran Church". Violinist Indulis SUNA was born in Riga in 1950 and he first studied violin at the Music School and College in Jelgava. Indulis continued his studies at the J. Vitols Latvian State Conservatory in Riga, where he received his BA and MM degrees. From 1979 to 1982 I. Suna completed his post graduate course at the P.I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory with Prof. Dm. M. Tziganov. Indulis Suna was a first violinist of the Latvian State String Quartet and a soloist of the Latvian State Concert Organization as well as held violin teaching position J.Vitols Latvian State Academy of Music in Riga. Together with his wife, pianist Ilga Suna, he has played and recorded a number of world premiere compositions and many composers have dedicated they works to them.
