Immortal
Biography: Norway’s IMMORTAL disbanded in 2003, after 13 successful years as one of the pioneers of metal. After a solid break, the band has decided to enter the battlefield again, and what better way to do so than performing a few selected, exclusive concert appearances? "I needed a break," Abbath says. "I think we all did! We were simply burnt out, and there was no point in continuing. We had a Norwegian tour booked, and had performed at some great festivals both in the US and Europe, but it just didn’t feel right any longer." In the meantime, drummer Horgh has released the Virus album and toured with Sweden’s death metal masters, Hypocrisy , and Abbath has been working on his sideproject, I , featuring members of Enslaved and Sahg , and the return of Immortal’s original drummer, Armagedda. "I’m really proud of that album," Abbath states enthusiastically, "and it was an important album to make, in order to be able to focus on Immortal again." Come 2007, the world will see a new ferocious lineup of IMMORTAL, featuring Apollyon from Aura Noir . Immortal will appear live on the "Seven Dates of Blashyrkh" tour in 2007.
