J Lin

Born December 9, 1986 to Georgia Washington and Jerry Lindsey, Sr., in Dermott, Arkansas was Jeremy Lindsey, but the world knows him as J-lin. He was most influenced by his brother Jerry Lindsey, Jr., but you will know him as J-Kill. He studied the rhyming scheme of his brother, and the energy he brought when he made a song. He was writing every since he was 13. He never felt the need to step out and make himself a known rapper until tragedy struck. He had a very close friend to him pass away due to cancer, and he wanted to make a dedication to him. He talked with him his longtime friend Eric Lunsford about doing a song on this upcoming album he would be making for him. He was turned down the first time, but eventually he was able to record his first track entitled "Forever Loyal". This song would have moderate success, and would land him a spot on The Matt Evans Project, "A Thousands Steps Towards Forever". What was so unique about this is it would be the only rap act to an album full of heavy rock. After many different attempts at studios he was not happy with his songs so he was gearing up to start recording at another studio when a tragedy struck again to him. When his older brother was found by the train tracks where he would die later on that day. J-Lin told himself he was done with music entirely because he didn't want to do it without his mentor, his big brother, but he continued to write. He wanted to record this song so he made what he thought would be his final trip into the studio, but after making this dedication he knew he had a future. The song is entitled "Won't Be Broken", which is the featured song on his website, and is one of the lead singles off his debut album "True Testament". Overall this is one of the most complete albums in recent years, and it all has meaning. So the name of the album is fitting for the album. This album will be in stores January 19th, 2007. I hope you all enjoy it.
