loopyla's Artist Review for Jamie Cullum

Can't wait 'til the next one
I bought this album a few months ago because I saw an amazing performance on the show Parkinson. So on a holiday overseas I saw Twentysomething on the shelf and grabbed it, much to the protest of the family. I am still one of very few fans in my country of South Africa, but I am spreading the word because this album does not disappoint, especially if you've already seen Jamie Cullum perform. I recently saw his album under "New releases" in the small, isolated Jazz room in the back of a huge record shop, so SA is slowly getting there, and I'm waiting for them to catch up. Twentysomething is a blend of lounge Jazz, pop, and a bit o' rock, and I can't forget the brilliant covers of Cole Porter, Pharrel Williams and Radiohead just to name a few. And of course Jamie Cullum and brother Ben's originals. I wait patiently for the debut album, Pointless Nostalgic, to arrive in the mail and can't wail 'til the third one.
